Oregon, Part II: Getting to Cali

We had about two months of planning to figure out who was going on the ride, build some sort of support van to handle the daily camera downloads and battery charging, and sort through the technical camera stuff. We figured out that the kiwi’s cameras wouldn’t work because they shoot PAL format (like the rest of the world) instead of the NTSC format used in the good ole’ US of A. It’d cost us more to convert the PAL footage in post-production then it would to just buy another camera. So now we own a HD camera… that’s a budget buster.

Oregon, Part 1: Making It Happen

During mid-winter hibernation, I crave motorcycle movies. Anything with a bike in it. Dakar footage, moto classics, speed channel - I don’t care. Its the stir craziness that comes from waiting for a break in the weather to get out and ride. So while on a ride last spring through the Ochoco Mountains with fellow GS rider Gastich, we got to talking about making a film showcasing some of the epic terrain Oregon has to offer.
